The Canal (which is about 6.4 km long and connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea), A razor-thin waterway that slices through the Isthmus of Corinth, linking the Ionian Sea to the Aegean Sea. The vertical limestone walls shoot up 80m. so ships look like they’re gliding through a canyon. Ancient dream, modern cut Greeks imagined a canal here since antiquity it finally opened in 1893 after massive engineering work. It’s 21 m wide at the waterline too tight for big cruise ships, but perfect for smaller vessels and dramatic photos. The road bridges at either end give you the classic straight-down view (slightly dizzying, in a fun way). Some operators run bungee jumps over the canal.
