Most cruise ships dock at 06:00 so the tour starts at 07:30. If your ship’s docking time is after 07:30 then the tour will start thirty (30) minutes after your ship docks. Please disembark as soon as possible. If you are late you will miss the tour. • In case of not being able to find the driver, please ask port authority police to show you the meeting point for private tours. Itinerary Description
This tour is recommended to people that are in a good physical condition because it involves a fair amount of walking. It is not appropriate for disabled people.
The Acropolis is the ancient citadel of Athens, situated on a rocky hill above the city. Its most famous structure is the Parthenon, built in the 5th century BC under Pericles. The Acropolis served as a religious center dedicated primarily to Athena and includes other monuments such as the Erechtheion, Temple of Athena Nike, and Propylaea. Acropolis: The Parthenon dedicated to Athena Parthenos, dedicated to Athena Polias, the monumental entrance to the sacred area, Temple of Athena Nike dedicated to Athena-Apteros Nike, “Herodeon” Theater, the ruins of the Theater of Dionysus and finally [Mars Hill]), Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch (just drive by), Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) the original stadium built in 1863 for the first modern Olympic games in 1896) for a short photo stop, Old Palace, Tomb of The Unknown Soldier, Changing of The Guards, drive by Catholic Cathedral, and finally drive by Neoclassical Trilogy, Academy, National Library, First Universityof Athens.
